Hey all you smart, healthy rawsome individuals out there....this is Kim H, co-owner of the Almond Blossom in Flagler Beach...a living foods cafe and soon to be Wellness Center!! We have closed down at the 408 S Daytona Ave, Flagler Beach address and will be reopening (hopefully sometime by the first of September) at 213 S 2nd St, Flagler Beach (just two blocks North of our old location).

We will be not only a living foods cafe, but a Wellness Learning Center...offering classes in the living foods life-style. We will also have an open kitchen (BOY ARE WE BRAVE!!) so you can come sit at the bar and watch as the food is being prepared (if ya can handle the noise of the blenders...LOL).

I've been inspired to post this message after recieving an article from a devoted fan and friend. The article focused on a group of people in Washington, D.C. who created an entire restaurant concept online by getting feedback from interested indivduals who created a "community" which encompassed thier thoughts and ideas about what they wanted from an eatery.

Sooo, based on that concept, I asking for all my "peeps" and "soon to be peeps" to share thier thoughts, comments, ideas, suggestions, likes, dislikes and other feedback for our new facility!! It's kinda of a way of getting a comment card BEFORE we re-open!! We want people to get excited about the world of raw and encourage you to send this site to other non-memebers. Here's how it works:

* We welcome all ideas and comments (keep it clean please) but as the owner have the ulitimate say in what goes down.

*For everyone that submits and idea that we use, we will give a $15 gift certificate to our cafe, once we re-open.

*We also encourage anyone to donate to our re-opening fund and by doing so, you will recieve a gift certicate in the amount of the donation and get a VIP card which allows you free goodies after a few visits, plus, you can have your special space reserved whenever you visit us!! WOW...SUCH A DEAL...THAT'S BETTER THAN THE MAC DEATH, FULL MEAL DEAL!!

SOO...let 'er rip...well, with the comments that is... and give your thoughts!! ....

I too wish you the best of success and think that the open kitchen is a great idea. I think people find it especially intriguing how raw foods are prepared (I know *I* do!)

I'll continue to support you in any way I can.... a few more blurbs in the paper and bringing in as many new friends as I'm able!

Peace,

Erin

Hi Guys,
I sure miss seeing you. I have been busy playing. I thing you ought to build a blender box. Use some nice plywood for the out side and use sound board or some kind of foam. maybe the stuff you make the rocks out of. Those blenders are laud and I don't go to a couple of places because of the noise. Check me out at www.myspace.com/johnalisonmusic
Say hi to the gang for me.
Luv Ya.

Dear Kim & Dave,
I so look forward to your new opening. I know I and some friends look forward to attending some prep classes! My friends are jealous because I am blessed to have you so close to home. Wishing you the best in health and success.

Congrats Kim and David! I'm so excited to see what you've been up to. I love the open kitchen idea too. By the way, a Jacksonville wedding magazine contacted me and wanted to feature our wedding so you will be getting some press from it! So here are some comments/suggestions for you since you're doing something I've been dreaming of doing myself:

  • Create a volunteer community where people can help around the wellness center in exchange for services
  • Offer a raw food chef certification program
  • Have a message board where people can leave comments about what they ate that day
  • Lead a detox support group

I can probably think of some more later, but there's a few to spark some others.

Hi Dave and Kim
May God bless your new adventure!
Anxiously awaiting the new opening!
I do have some suggestions:
A volunteer program. Not necessarily with the food prep, unless of course they have been trained and
there is consistency. I volunteer at Blue Planet in St. Augustine and love it! We get benefits such as a
20 - 40% discount.
Love the blender idea of the blenders being eclosed in such a way a previous member mentioned.
I would love to see you open Mon thru Sat.(greakfast thru dinner)
Love the open kitchen idea!
Definitly increase the library material.
I would love to get into a course to be a raw food chef!(waiting on info for this!)

Ciao!

p.s. Keep your msm lotion in stock, I love it!( of course the powder as well

Can't wait 'till you're open again, I love the Hemp bagels y'all had! Even though they're not raw... hope you'll continue w these kind of items in your restaurant also! Your menu items were so good, anytime I was feeling "challenged" in my raw food lifestyle, all I had to do was come by for something to eat, and that got me back on the right track!!
