Mike Ream will be leading a Wild Edible Forage on Sunday June 1 from 2pm - 5pm. He will be showing us how to identify local wild edible plants that may be growing in our very own backyards or nearby parks. Mike Ream will also be showing us how to go about eating these plants and what some of the best ways to eat them are.

You will be able to go home with plenty of wild food after the forage is over. Please bring comfortable clothes, water, and a cloth bag to carry your plants in. This is a great opportunity to discover a way to have the most nutritious food on the planet without paying a dime and pick the food in your local environment!

The parking lot where we will be meeting is at a small lake 1/4 mile east of Hughes Rd & Hunting Quarter Road in Poolesville MD 20837.

If you need more information, please contact Mike Blongiewicz at mike4health@aol.com or 301-525-4902.

I was hoping you would do another one of these, since I missed the last one. I've really been wanting to know what I can eat out there!

Very enjoyable way to learn about wild foods. I hope we do another hike during another season to learn about other wild edible plants.

I am proud of my friend, Mike Ream, who led this Wild Foods Forage and gave some in-depth knowledge on plant names and background history. Very informative and useful!

This was really educational. My daughter and I really enjoyed our day looking at all the plants and being out in nature with good-natured people!
    •  Very enlightening to actually see what live herbal plants look like in the wild.
    •  Props to Mike Ream for enduring allergies to educate us about edible wild plants. He's a fountain of knowledge.

We would like to attend another opportunity to do this again. It takes time to get to know specific features of each edible plant. Once we know the plants well enough we will be confident about eating the greens we pick. Thanks for organizing this.
