Hi guys,
Just wanted to ask if anyone has suggestions or ideas on what I can do with all my organic compost. We raw foodies go through so much organic produce, I'm curious what everyone is doing with theirs. I don't have access to a yard, and at the moment I can't even garden indoors (I hardly get any sunlight in my apartment). I've spoken with a few farmers at the farmers market to see about donating to their farm, but it seems most of them already have an abundance of compost. Does anyone garden or have any ideas they can send my way? Thank you kindly, Mila www.raw-radiance.com Edited by Mila on Oct 27, 2009 2:15 PM |

Hi guys, Hi Mila, Western Disposal (303-444-2037) has a compost service available. You have a garbage bin for every week pick up (we are down to 1 or 1 and a half bags of garbage a week for a family of 4!) and you alternate between comingle recycle one week and compost the next. You can pick the size bin that is right for your needs. Maybe you can go in on the service with some fellow apartment neighbors. I pay $51.00 for thre months. Not bad for a good green solution. I hope that helps. Heinz Tonic Herban Lounge |

Hi Mila,
What about a worm bin? It is something that may be stored in a closet or on the pantry floor, and fed food scraps and shredded paper. And then the castings and compost may be given away as gifts to gardeners or added to your house plants. Worms do make nice pets...There is lots of info on the internet... Blessings, Rhianna |
